Midi Guitar Vst Plugins
The standalone version of MIDI Guitar was designed to be a handy little host of plugins, that does not depend on a complex DAW recording system, making it ideal for rehearsals, live performances or for when you just need a quick creativity boost.
- The beauty of MIDI is it is very easy to transpose a MIDI recording into a new key, not so an audio recording of a guitar. So it was a happy day for me when I finally found the Spicy Guitar Free VST (Virtual Studio Technology) plugin (see www.spicyguitar.com ).
- Download MiGiC and install the plugin into your DAW of choice. Create an audio track, connect your guitar to it, and add the MiGiC plugin to the track. Create a MIDI track and set the MIDI from input as the audio track that you are running MiGiC on. Add a software instrument of choice to the MIDI track.
Spicy Guitar is a free plugin by Keolab which is a physical model of an acoustic guitar synthesizer. The great things about Spicy Guitar is that it has 2 different positions for each chord, chord inversions, one-hand up and down strumming, adjustable strumming speed, assignable switch key to trigger controls and much more.
However, you’ll need some plugins to really make it shine. The built-in synths and instruments are really just meant as a starting point. This page details the various types of plugins supported by MIDI Guitar and recommends a few good first synths for new users.
